PROBLEMS WITH OUR FLAT
when we moved into the flat at fulford place two years ago thing where going ok just a few teething problem eg, light blowing fuse box little things like that .
On the 6th of October 2006 we went to brugge on a weekend break and when we got back on the Sunday there was a hand written letter on our door. It was from the flat below our flat saying we have must have a problem with our bathroom pipes. Because her main bathroom ceiling is damaged with water and the ceiling is very soft and the lights ad extractor fan wont work because of the water that has been leaking.
so me and my house partner quickly open the access areas of where the pipes are to only discover the pipe that fills the toilet system up is running like a tap and must have been for about a year or so. Because the concrete has eroded and the housing around the pipes is made from plaster with tile on it, and the plaster is soaked and soft like a sponge and you can touch the tiles and it all moves easily.
So when we looked in the area of the pipes it looked like a bomb site behind there, the people who fitted the bathroom had left chunk's of wood left on pipes and on the earthing wire from the shower. So if there was a electrical fault and I touched the shower will it been safe if the earthing wire is attached still don't know if it is safe. Bottles of tango the fizzy drink left behind there.
Now the more thing I see like this what is the other parts of my house going to be like? At this point I was so angry I don't even want to stay in this flat anymore because I think the shoddy workmanship is cheaply done and is not safe. So has building control really checked my flat when built or have they only check the ground floor like I have heard they do? My partner contacted CPM to get the building insurance number as we have a management company. Then he rang the insurance and wee have to get quotes for the downstairs flat ceiling and electrics in the bathroom and our bathroom need to be ripped out and redone because this is a mess and I want it sorting.
Right here are the pictures of our bathroom with the planks of wood and the mess behind the unit and tell me your thought about this development??
